Pinterest

So, someone FINALLY sent me an invite to join Pinterest.  I think I will end up regretting it since I have been on there all day!  However, I have found several things that are really neat that I have 'pinned' to my board.  Lots of great teaching ideas in one place, though!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  I am looking forward to 2011 being OVER!  2012 is going to be a great year - dammit!

A Better Day

So today I went to school with my feet dragging.  I had yet another meeting on yet another child that yet another parent did not attend.  That's ok, I can help your child on my own, don't need your help.  Luckily I love the people I teach with so I was laughing and getting back into my groove.  I was determined not to have another day like yesterday.  It was a good day for the most part.  My cherubs made me laugh.  I read them the book How Full is Your Bucket for Kids.  I am resolved to not be a bucket dipper but a filler from here on out.  I don't want them to remember me like I remember my 2nd grade teacher.  HOWEVER, the thing that had made my day... I about to watch Olive the Other Reindeer.  My Christmas spirit is finally here!!!

Comments, Stories from the Trenches

I am going to try and remember to write my stories here so that you may enjoy the fun parts of teaching!  I, of course, will not include names of my cherubs but if I can remember the year or school were I was teaching, I will include that.  As much as I am a stickler for grammar, don't mess with me if I mess up!  There is a time I am sure that I will have been self medicating and may make a mistake!  I love you!

So my first story I recall...
"Please have my child sit at the front of the classroom, he just had his androids out."

A day in the life

So... my first post... this came from a day that needed a superhero.  After many a day of teaching, I think today I was at my worst. I not only sent two kids out, I choked up and felt like a complete failure when looking at my students results on their benchmark tests.  For someone that teaches her heart out, I have no clue what is going on.

I think I need a pocket Jesus with a flashlight...
